The TCS Sydney Marathon became the seventh Abbott World Marathon Major in 2025, joining London, Berlin, Boston, Chicago, New York and Tokyo. The course is a tour of the city's icons — a start near the Harbour Bridge, a loop through the eastern suburbs and the notorious "Heartbreak Hill", and a finish on the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House.
It's one of the most scenic marathon finishes in the world, and now one of the most sought-after start lines.
